CUPS request files

Homer-11
Kubuntu 5.10

~>ls -l /var/spool/cups
total 84
-rw-------  1 cupsys lpadmin 562 2005-10-28 11:41 c00005
-rw-------  1 cupsys lpadmin 560 2005-10-28 11:42 c00006
-rw-------  1 cupsys lpadmin 560 2005-10-28 11:42 c00007

What are these files for?  Do they get purged automagically or will
they hang around forever?

~>more /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
##  --- Lots deleted --- ##
#
# RequestRoot: the directory where request files are stored.
# By default "/var/spool/cups".
#
#RequestRoot /var/spool/cups

Re: CUPS request files

Tim Jackson-3
to not save Job history, in the /etc/cups/cupsd.config
"#PreserveJobHistory Yes" should be changed to "PreserveJohHistory No",
note  the  lack of  #

Thanks for your comments.  After my first posting I also discovered
the MaxJobs setting in cupsd.conf.  With it you can keep
PreserveJobHistory in tact for whatever that's worth.
