Call for testing: Xenial langpack updates IV (try 2)

Lukasz Zemczak
Hello translators!

We hare re-built the language packs after discovering a regression in
the previous batch. The new packages are now in xenial-proposed again
and seem to look a lot better.

Everyone, please resume testing of the language-packs for the xenial
point-release. Details are available in the forwarded original
call-for-testing e-mail below.

Thank you!

Hello translators!

In a few weeks the last Xenial point release, 16.04.5, will be made
available to download. Before that, let's return to the Xenial
translations once again and take this opportunity to improve the state
of the translations provided via Ubuntu's language packs.

We now start the fourth langpack update cycle for Xenial. The names of
the langpacks which have been copied to xenial-proposed are:

  language-pack-XX
  language-pack-gnome-XX

where 'XX' is the language code.

The steps involved are described at this wiki page:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/LanguagePackUpdatesQA

Basically the translators teams are asked to

* install the updated langpacks from xenial-proposed
* perform the tests according to the wiki page
* add the test result for respective language to the Xenial table on
  the wiki page

The row for Swedish has already been inserted; just add your language
in the same manner.

Langpacks which have been reported as successfully tested by 25th of
July 14:00 UTC will be copied to xenial-updates, and with that made
available to all users.

This is the last coordinated translation update for Xenial. If a need
arises for further updates of a particular language, this guidance applies:

REMINDER: Call for testing: Xenial langpack updates IV (try 2)

Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Hey translators,

Two parallel language pack updates are taking place at the moment.

For the 18.04.1 one, and as Łukasz explained, we don't call for testing.
All the languages will migrate to bionic-updates unless some regression
is detected when doing some sanity checks.

But this message is really about the Xenial language pack update before
the release of Ubuntu 16.04.5. In that case only those languages which
have been successfully tested will make it to the users.

So far only two languages - French and Swedish - have been tested, and I
would really encourage more translators teams to take this opportunity
to improve the translation coverage. The requested test steps don't take
long to accomplish.

There is one more week left for testing - deadline is July 25 at 14:00 UTC.

Cheers,

Hi Gunnar,

Much as I would like to test for the Dutch language, I can't because I
do not have 16.04 installed. I will ask others if they want to test.

Greets,

Hannie

The 3 language packs which were tested have now been moved to -updates.
Thanks Lukasz, and thanks to those who tested.
