DRI pci id for Radeon Mobility X600

jani.monoses@gmail.com
Hello

attached is a patch and the link to the commit in the DRI git tree for
adding the PCI id of a card to the recognized R300 based ones.
The Radeon Mobility X600 is in the HP NX8220 which is one of the
Canonical test laptops.

I recompiled the drm radeon module with this and now can play tuxracer
without noticing any other ill efects.

Can this be considered for inclusion even though current dapper Xorg
does not have all the support for this card? It prints a few TODO
warnings while running GL apps.

thanks
Jani

You mean accelerated?
Does that mean that dapper has (quite) complete 3D accel for Radeon r300
cards?

dapper has accel support for some r300 based cards (there are many
variants of the r300 chipset ). Upstream kernel/xorg/mesa has even more
support from what I see. But it is by no means complete. I tested this
more and sometimes it causes funky effects on the screen after resuming
from hibernate. Maybe it is still not quite there, or complete support
requires changes from upstream which are not in the dapper kernel/xorg.
