Issues with cdimage server

Charlie-2
I'm pretty sure someone already knows this but the cdimage.ubuntu.com server doesn't seem to be working correctly. I downloaded the latest daily build to begin this weeks testing phase (my own schedule), and there's problems with the ISO. I created my startup disk as usual but upon restart, I get a big error box that says the installer's not working properly and I tried this three times and I got the same error each time. So now I've had to, *gulps hard*, reinstall windows 10 JUST to get a clean download of 18.04 from the main website for kubuntu and then make a startup disk just to get kubuntu back on my laptop. Ugh. And then try again with a new daily build of 19.04, which I've been testing. I sure dislike being away from the real world of Kubuntu.

If you are referring to the Disco daily build isos, and this bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1805685

then as you can see from that, a fix is on the way and I'm just waiting
for a Core/ubiquity Developer to do an upload.

Rik: yeah, that bugs looks about right for what I've experienced. What got me worried was the completely different look to the image server as well. It's all white with just blue links and no dates, data sizes, etc. like it always does.

Bob: sounds like a good plan. I'll have to invest in some more equipment when I can.

Yeah, that is fallout from Ubuntu sprucing up the css for the main
Ubuntu cd pages, with unintended consequences for the pages of some
flavours, due to shared code.

Fortunately it's just cosmetic.

Again, waiting on a fix.

Rik: oh I see. That's unfortunate that aesthetic changes cause unintentional side effects. Heh, sounds like medicine. Smh lol oh well, I know we'll get it fixed. I'm going to dig out an older laptop and use that as my testing unit (create a startup disk and check it before I try anything else with that daily build so I don't end up with a $600 brick again. lol) until this issue is cleared up that way I don't do this to myself again.

The bug causing ubiquity to crash on startup should now be fixed I hope,
and today's iso has been re-spun to include the fixed package.
