Mirro Storage size

ahmad faizal abdul latif
Hi Guys,

i would like to know what is the current size of the total storage for ubuntu mirror? i’m a bit confuse as i have 2TB and i did try to mirror from nearest mirror which provide rsync and end up i can see that my 2TB disk already fully utilise and seems like the process to download taking so long. Please advise. would be great if anyone can suggest the correct command that i could use. Please advise.

thanks.

Re: Mirro Storage size

Hi Ahmad,

2TB should be more than enough, based on disk usage of the server responsible for http://rs.archive.ubuntu.com/ :

$ du -hcs /srv/ubuntu-mirror/*
1,1T /srv/ubuntu-mirror/archive
24G /srv/ubuntu-mirror/releases
1,1T total

What is your upstream mirror? Have you tried syncing from archive.ubuntu.com (for packages) and rsync.releases.ubuntu.com (for CD release images)?

I've followed the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Mirrors and its sub-pages, configured ubumirror and worked with Ubuntu mirror-admins <[hidden email]> to resolve a few smaller issues.

PS: Please be patient, the first sync takes quite a bit of time.

Regards,

Re: Mirro Storage size

Hi Guys,

it seems working now. anyway,i notice that apt-mirror will create and download all the files based on repo directory where i download it. I would like to know if let say if i have download using mirrora and once done, i would like to mirror directly to the actual ubuntu repo server. so i will change the current directory name to the repo server that i’m going to download. Will the system re-download the existing ubuntu packages? or it will check and download the latest package only? please advise.
regards,
