Monitor info keeps getting posted to syslog Ubuntu 18.04

Chris-2
Since my upgrade last week from 16.04 to 18.04 this keeps getting
written to my syslog. Any way to suppress this output or send it to
another log file.

No one has any comments, suggestions or advice on what I should be
doing to figure out why this is being output to my syslog?

On Ubuntu 18.04.1, I had a look at /var/log/syslog and didn't see anything. I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad T420 with an Intel i5-2520M processor with integrated graphics.

What kind of hardware are you getting this problem on?

HTH

First thing this morning at 5:43am when I turned on the monitor then
again at 5:44 and 6:05. I don't think there's any set frequency as to
when it's written.

Is it happening when the monitor comes out of standby or something
like that?  I presume you are not plugging/unplugging it and that the
cable is in securely.

Monitor never goes to standby. Monitor stays on from the time I get up
until I go to bed at night. Monitor was reconnected Mon when I updated
my ram and it is connected tightly. The below paste is from my hourly
syslog snippets. At the time shown was probably my first boot after the
upgrade.

What connection are you using? VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.?

When I went from 10.04 to 12.04, one of my screens stopped working,
after years of successful operation. I had two VGA cables, in DVI ->
VGA convertors. One led to a VGA connector, and that was fine. The
other led to separate BNC connectors for R/G/B/sync. This no longer
worked on 12.04 and I had to switch to dual VGA-to-VGA cables.

I am wondering if something similar is happening to you...

OK, OK, enough with the cut-and-paste, please!

So you have a single screen, attached by a VGA cable to a VGA port, is
that correct?

Does your machine have a separate graphics card or is it onboard? Is
it a desktop? Are there any other graphics ports on the computer? Are
there any others on the screen?

Are you using any kind of display power management?

What desktop are you using? What if any screensaver or screen lock?

Gnome, installed with 18.04, no screensaver or screen lock. Using the
WallPaperDownloader snap to switch wallpapers every 10 mins.

FWIW the output happens every time Evolution is started. I discovered
that just now by starting different applications.
