Thunderbird 10 question

tddrazul@frontier.com
When trying to open a link from inside a e-mail in Thunderbird to a web
site it fail to connect in either K-11.10 or  K-12.04B. Everything works
correctly in LM-12, U-11.10/U-12.04B and Fedora 16.

All hardware is the same as I use a removable HD draw system. Have
checked all systems configurations in Thunderbird in all systems and
they're all the same.

The one thing different is, a pop up opens in Thunderbird and asks which
application it should use, click applications and all you get is your
home folder which doesn't contain any access to any applications that
would work.

Any ideas would be appreciated

After clicking the link you can navigate to /usr/bin/firefox (if you use Firefox) and the next time it should work automagically.

Isak:

K-12.04 uses F-11. Again trying to clicking on any type of link inside the e-mail (actual link or picture) produces nothing ....... you just click/click away without any response from Thunderbird. All other functions like "reply/forward, etc" all work perfectly.

What makes this situation so frustrating to me is that the other OS I mentioned, everything worked correctly right out of the box as they say. I'll wait now till K-12 goes final in April, maybe by then it will have been corrected. K-12-B is doing just fine other than this hick-up.

Thanks for you help.

In attachments their isn't any listing for Firefox. I opened action / use other .... nothing in Dolphin / documents to start with .... found Firefox 10.2 tz in dolphin and put in documents. I can down load Firefox but it never appears in Action window as a choice to use. Question isn't Kubuntu using the same repositories as Ubuntu? and aren't they all derived from Debian? So wouldn't you think that if Thunderbird works perfectly U-12.04-B why shouldn't  Thunderbird be working correctly in Kubuntu 12.04-B ...... I could understand there being a problem if Kubuntu was using a RPM repository like in Fedora 16.

Thanks for trying to help
