Michael Larabel tells of the changes in KDE Plasma 5.15 for network connections, the change in the Dolphin file manager to list of any active tags, that Discover restores the progress indication and control of mounting a storage volume is restored, and that work is proceeding on the VPN configuration interface for small screens. Further more, Flatpak extensions are now supported in Discover. There are a lot of other fixes and polishes that are detailed in the provided link.

Michael Larabel advises that the LibreOffice 6.2 Beta 1, the first of three, is now available from LibreOffice; this release marks the hard feature freeze.Some of the changes and enhancements that are included in LibreOffice 6.2 are listed and we are advised with LibreOffice 6.2, Linux x86 32-bit builds are now considered deprecated. Marius Nestor informs us that Notebookbar has been added in the LibreOffice 6.2 beta release as a new feature in the user interface design. The February release of  LibreOffice 6.2 will have additional enhancements and features and this beta release opens the second LibreOffice 6.2 bug hunting session. === AMDVLK 2018.4.2 Open-Source Vulkan Driver Brings Sparse Support, Degenerate Triangles ===

Michael Larabel reports on the AMDVLK 2018.4.2 Open-Source Vulkan Driver, the latest weekly public code push. The AMDVLK 2018.4.2 release adds support for sparse memory,  VK_AMD_memory_overallocation_behavior, debug stack trace dumps, and enablement to compute shaders. As well, various other fixes. The new driver is available for 18.04 as a deb for easy deployment. Pertinent links are provided.

=== Qt 5.12 Release Candidate Available, Final Coming In Early December ===

Michael Larabel informs us that the Qt 5.12 Release Candidate has been released for last-minute testing. It contains many documentation updates, several bug/regressions fixes with more details on the provided mailing list link. The hope is Qt 5.12.0 will be released early December. Michael provides a summary of some of 5.12's improvements, plus a link to Qt Wiki page should you need more.

=== Mesa 18.3-RC4 Released With A Handful Of Fixes ===

Michael Larabel writes that the fourth release candidate for Mesa 18.3 is available for testing. === GNOME On Wayland Will Now Work Correctly For Non-60Hz Refresh Rates ===

Michael Larabel reminds us of the addition of GPU hot-plugging and DisplayLink Improvements, and tells us GNOME's Mutter will now behave when setup for non-60Hz refresh rates with the Wayland compositor. The year old bug on non-60Hz refresh rates is now closed. Michael provides links to the merge request, telling us the code is in Mutter Git for GNOME 3.3. It's looking good for single monitor use, but more code is yet to be merged for multi-monitor setups that will hopefully also be seen in GNOME 3.32.
