=== Essential Certbot updates on 16.04: call for testing ===

Robie Basak (rbasak) advises that updates for the Let’s Encrypt packages (Certbot) are available and puts forth a call for testing. The current primary Let’s Encrypt CA will turn off on 13 March 2019 affecting ubuntu 16.04 LTS. The proposed updates are in backports and with sufficient testing and validation will be moved to the usual update channels. Robie provides instructions to install, test, and the means to provide the feedback.

=== Week 9 in Multipass ===

Christopher Townsend (townsend) gives the update on Multipass. He reports briefly of the Sprint in Malta, relates numerous fixes, continuing works, and updates. Christopher advises of building the documentation library giving a link to add comments for guidance in the development. Instructions are given to install Multipass and lastly a link to the github page for feedback is provided.

William Wold (wmww) focuses this report on the outcome of the sprint. Noting that “Help wanted” and “Good first issue” are added to the issue list for assistance from outside developers. He advises of the advent of Mir 1.1.2, an update for Mir Snaps installation, and that UBPorts has their problem (linked) resolved and is now using  Mir 1.x on their edge builds.

=== KDE Plasma 5.15.2 Desktop Environment Released with 23 Bug Fixes, Update Now ===

Marius Nestor reports the highlights of the second point release to KDE Plasma 5.15. There is added info on the About Distro page in Info Center, fixes in the Kickoff applications menu, and eight components have seen updates. Marius gives a roadmap of the Plasma series development and advises that KDE Plasma 5.15.2 will soon be in the software repository, and the update is recommended. Joey Sneddon reports on a developing new fork of the Yaru icon theme. The Suru remix aim is to address branded apps icons by a blend of squares, rectangles and circles to create a more cohesive appearance. Jason then informs us of Ubuntu-MATE 18.04.2 pi's upcoming release imaged by Canonical's Martin Wimpress. To stay up-to-date on the latest developments, Jason recommends Martins Wimpress' twitter feed which is provided. Presently the "bootable images are a thing" and we can look forward to a full desktop suite running on the Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3/3+.

=== Ubuntu Touch OTA-8 Coming to Ubuntu Phones on March 6th with More Improvements ===

Marius Nestor reports that the UBports developers have put out a call for testing. Ubuntu Touch OTA-8 pre-release builds are available via a GitHub Project for OTA-8 QA link, for testing and feedback. This release features enhancements to the Morph browser, improvements to other components and apps, code reduction, support for ARM64 builds, improves tests on the Ubuntu UI Toolkit (UITK), and updates the Android container pre-start script. Target date to release is March 6th, 2019.

Abhishek Prakash writes that he regularly sees rumours that Ubuntu is planning to replace Apt with Snap in Ubuntu 19.04, and that this is just not true. Abhishek provides some context and the original source for the rumor, and how it gained some 'heat'. Then we are advised of accurate clarification in this rumor’s dismissal as merely a proposal by some community member not affiliated with Ubuntu. Alan Pope of Canonical confirms the fact stating “not a thing we're doing”.
