Alan Griffiths (alan_g) this week provides us several workarounds for some issues encountered with Ubuntu Core 18 on a RPi3. Alan advises of a fix in mir-kiosk-apps snap that was affected by a change in the flickr API. Work continues in server support for Wayland protocol extensions; WayLand Conformance Suite integration is completed and soon there will be a WLCS release. Additionally we are told of improvements and fixes in the Wayland debugging tool, and reworking the layer-shell support for MATE and Mir.
Sergio Schvezov tells us that Snapcraft 3.3 is now available in the stable channel of the Snap Store. If you are using the stable channel for snapcraft, your system will update itself. Sergio provides a link to full release notes, plus some details on new features useful for developers using Snapcraft before ending with a detailed change list.
=== KDE Plasma 5.15.4 Desktop Environment Released with More Than 35 Changes ===
Marius Nestor informs us that the KDE Project has released KDE Plasma 5.15.4. The three weeks of work since last point release brings us loads of updates and improvements, many of which Marius lists. The next update in the series is due May 7th, with a reminder for us to update our systems when they land in our software repositories.

Marius Nestor tells us that Canonical have released a major security update fixing more than 20 vulnerabilities in upstream kernels. Updates cover all supported Ubuntu releases, with details of many bug fixes provided. Users are advised to update immediately.
=== Purism to Beef Up Privacy of Its Linux Devices with Private Internet Access VPN ===
Marius Nestor writes that Purism has partnered with Private Internet Access to implement a VPN solution by default on its devices. Purism plans to integrate using PIA's VPN services by default in its PureOS which ship with its Librem laptops, and also in the Librem 5 phone that is expected later this year.
