Unity translation bug in Saucy

Игорь Зубарев
Hello,

Unity is completely translated in Saucy in Russian but shows untranslated. Is it ok?

Check out that the files for Unity exist under
/usr/share/locale-langpack/ru_RU/LC_MESSAGES/

These should be:
unity_firefox_extension.mo  unity-lens-photos.mo
unity-greeter.mo            unity-lens-shopping.mo
unity-lens-applications.mo  unity-lens-video.mo
unity-lens-files.mo         unity.mo
unity-lens-friends.mo       unity_webapps.mo
unity-lens-music.mo

If not, go into Language Selector (Settings) and verify that Russian is selected.

Hello,

In Language Selector selected Russian.
Also all these files I have but the folder is
/usr/share/locale-langpack/ru/LC_MESSAGES/

These files have the translated strings which I see untranslated in Unity. It seems a bug.
Some strings in Unity shows translated, some not.

It's fine that you have 'ru' and technically it is better than 'ru_RU'.

There have been cases that apps do not set correctly the environment variables and do not load translations as a result. If no text appears in Russian, then this is a bug, and you can file a bug report.
For example, can you type Russian in the Dash; Does searching work whether the text is lower/upper case?

If you notice a bug for Russian, then most probably it happens for Greek as well, thus add here the bug report that you created.

Now it is confirmed.

I believe that Russian is also affected, that is, you should not be able to type Russian at all in Dash.
