So will we be able to run Ubuntu side-by-side with stock Android on, say my Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Or do I need a full reflash of my phone? Or is it only for selected devices?

Please don't top-post. Your reply belongs /below/ the (trimmed) text
you're replying to.

Neither of your ideas. This is the launch of the first new phone running Ubuntu.

Article says you will be able to order online.  The BT site does not show the phone yet.

I read that it will only be available through 'flash sales' on spots in Europe. Which does not make sense at all. I can see that the marketing boys want to turn it into something exclusive, a wannahave. But it just isn't. The specs are limited and the price is low. Which also doesn't make sense. Because most potential early adopters will be IT folks who like Linux. So they will want a mini PC, like the Nokia N900.
So the way to break into an already saturated market is to use these people and let them act as trendsetters showing off their fantastic gimmic to friends. But that's not gonna happen with these specs. Another way would be to make a cheap but good and fast smartphone that is open and easy to use everyone. But that's not gonna happen because of the flash sales.

This is one big marketing failure if you ask me.

I really hope it will be a success, I really really do. But right now i don't see it happening.
