init file misplaced

init file misplaced

Hi every one
                   I have instaled linux on my pc and have used it for some time .The next day when i have switched on my pc back
it gave an error saying that "init file misplaced" .Now what should i do .Should i reinstall  my OS or change any file .plese help me .

Try doing sudo apt-get --reinstall install sysvinit sysv-rc
If that doesn't work try doing sudo dpkg-reconfigure `uname -r`
