updates

raymond house
I found with the help of Daniel that google talk plugin was the one giving me trouble with my updates and in software updates under "other software" I see that this was disabled in the upgrade to 16.04 but the box was checked so I unchecked it and now my updates work fine, this might be helpful to others.I don't know why google talk plugin was disabled, I guess in 16.04 we don't need it?? Thank you all with your help and special thanks to Daniel.

That google talk plugin gave me a lot of grief a few months ago as well, but in a different area.  I think it was mucking with Firefox.

Google keeps changing their plans for a final chat solution, so I think they're not keeping a close eye on the Linux ports.

You're welcome, Raymond ! In the beginning of my open-source free/libre
software journey a lot of people helped me...

Hope you have a great weekend,
Daniel
